I´m interested in the history of World War 2 which can´t be seen separately from destinies of Jews. I wanted to learn more about it, so I went to the meetings with witnesses of those times.

First I have heard about the Holocaust on the meeting with Mr. Spitzer. He was deported to Terezín when he was exactly my age. I can´t imagine how I would manage such a situation.

I have visited an old forest Jewish cemetery with my homeland study class. And I wonder who were the people who had to stay apart from the others even after their deaths.

Among several tragical destinies I got to know there was at least one with a happy ending and, what is more, our searching helped two childhood friends - Mr Hahn and Mr Spitzer - to meet again after almost 70 years.

The Jews with their culture have been a bit anonymous to me so far. I have learnt a lot about this topic from literature. Now I know the destinies of individuals. A lot of them were pupils of my age. They had similar pleasures, but so different life endings.

The project "Lost neighbors from Telč" started with only a hint of memories about the family Taub with three childern. After one and a half year of searching our common knowledge about our families and our childern broadened so much that we have realised our research will be never ending story.
